How custom / bespoke / made-to-measure cashmere works at MITONY
Every MITONY piece is knitted after you place the order. There is no ready stock — that is what “made to order” means on our FAQ: the minimum is just one piece, so you can trial a single sweater or build a small run for a boutique or private label.
The configuration stack (what you actually choose)
In Create My Sweater you set:
- Gender — women’s or men’s proportion baseline.
- Style (silhouette) — core shapes such as crew neck, V-neck, mock neck and turtle neck pullovers; polo or V-neck button cardigans; mock neck zip cardigan; V-neck sleeveless vest; zipped side-pocket hoodie (nine timeless silhouettes on About Us).
- Material (yarn) — one of four live yarns (details below).
- Colour — material-based colour books; 194 colours across our four yarns.
- Gauge — 3gg, 7gg, 12gg or 16gg.
- Pattern — Plain or Cable.
- Fit — for example Regular or Slim, then size.
- Size — XS through 5XL, with optional measurement fine-tuning.

Measurement fine-tuning
After selecting a standard size, you can adjust individual measurements in the configurator. If a measurement falls outside the standard range, use Talk to Us—the team confirms feasibility and quotes individually. What happens after you order
- You confirm configuration (and pay online, or arrange invoice / bank transfer for trade).
- Knitting starts for your piece—typical production about 1–2 weeks after payment.
- Express delivery about another 1–2 weeks via DHL, FedEx or UPS with tracking.
- Combined, orders are typically 2–3 weeks door to door, with updates from confirmation through delivery.
