This men’s merino wool zip hoodie (in the UK, a merino wool zip-up hoodie) is knitted in 100% extra fine merino wool at 16 gauge, a finer and lighter knit in a smooth plain knit, with a regular fit, shown here in Cream. Wear it at the weekend, when travelling, or over a T-shirt.

Your size, your measurements

Standard sizes run from XS to 5XL. Start from the size closest to you, then fine-tune body length, sleeve length, chest and other measurements in our Create My Sweater configurator. That makes this a made-to-measure option if you are tall, have long arms, or need a big and tall size that ready-made zip hoodies rarely get right. If a measurement falls outside our standard range, use “Talk to Us” and we will confirm it and quote it individually.

Yarn, colour and knit

Extra fine merino is our performance wool for year-round layering, and it comes in 75 colours in the configurator. You can also change the gauge (3, 7, 12 or 16gg), the knit pattern and the fit (regular or slim). Screens show colour slightly differently, so ask us for the physical colour card if you need an exact shade.

Knitted to order at 16 gauge in a smooth plain knit, with a hood, full-length zip and side pockets. Each piece is made individually to your size and measurements.

How should I wash my merino sweater?

Hand wash in cold water with a mild wool detergent, or use the wool/delicate cycle on your machine inside a mesh bag. Never wring — gently press out excess water.

How do I dry and store it?

Reshape while damp and lay flat to dry, away from direct heat or sunlight. Once fully dry, fold and store — avoid hanging, which can stretch the shoulders. Keep with cedar or lavender to deter moths.

How do I deal with pilling?

A little pilling is normal for natural fibres in the first few wears. Gently remove pills with a sweater comb or fabric shaver; fine merino pills less and less over time.

Can I iron or steam it?

Do not iron directly. If needed, steam lightly from a distance or press under a cloth on the lowest wool setting.
